Is Shiftly really free?

Yes. Rostering, time tracking, timesheets, award pay tools, onboarding, messaging, every integration and all apps are free, for every business at any size. There are no per-employee fees, no setup fees, no contracts and no credit card required to sign up.

How does Shiftly make money if the platform is free?

Shiftly earns revenue in one place: the on-demand staffing marketplace. When you fill a shift from the pool of shifters, you pay for the hours worked, super on top of the shift pay, Shiftly's 8% service fee plus GST, and a $1 super processing fee for the shift. The shifter pays Shiftly an 8% fee as well, shown on every shift before they accept it. If you never use On-Demand, you never pay.

What does an On-Demand shift cost a venue?

The hours worked, plus super at 12% of the shift pay, plus Shiftly's 8% service fee and GST on that fee, plus a $1 super processing fee (plus GST) for the shift. If the shifter is registered for GST, GST on their pay is added too. For a five-hour shift at $40 an hour with a shifter who isn't registered for GST, that's $200 of pay, $24 of super, $17.60 of service fee with GST and $1.10 of super processing fee with GST: $242.70 in total. You only pay when you fill a shift.

Are there per-employee or per-location charges?

No. You can add unlimited employees, locations and businesses on the free plan without any per-seat or per-location cost. Pricing doesn't scale with your headcount.

Is there a paid or pro tier I need to upgrade to?

No. There's no pro tier, no add-ons and no upsells. Every feature is included for every business. The only thing you can pay for is filling shifts through the on-demand marketplace.

Do I need a credit card or a contract to start?

No credit card and no contract. You can sign up in minutes, connect your accounting package and start rostering straight away. There's no lock-in and no trial that expires.

Does Shiftly run payroll?

No. Shiftly calculates award pay for each shift from the employee's award, using rates loaded from Fair Work Commission data, and exports timesheets and pay data to your payroll system, with every accounting integration included free. Shiftly is a calculation tool, not a payroll provider, so your business is responsible for checking rates and running the pay run.
