Overview
Navigating to Locations
Start by navigating to host.shiftly.au/business-account/locations or click the pen icon next to locations in your navigation menu.
- Open the account dropdown in the top-right corner of your dashboard
- Select ‘Locations’ under Business Settings
OR click the pen icon next to the location you would like to edit in your navigation menu.
Adding a physical location
If your business operates from more than one venue or you’d like to separate areas within the same venue (e.g. Kitchen, Floor, Upstairs Bar), you can add additional physical locations.
To complete this step:
- Click ‘Add location’ in the top-right corner of the ‘Locations’ screen
⚠️ If adding multiple locations within the same venue, you’ll need to use the same address for each.
Add or change your location’s name
This is the name that will appear in your rosters, scheduler, and timesheets.
By default, your first physical location will have been named after your business. Here is where you can edit this to better reflect the space (e.g. Shiftly Upstairs Bar or Shiftly Queens Street).
Add or change your Logo’s
Primary Logo:
Upload a high-resolution version of your business logo for a horizontal format.
Upload requirements:
- Aspect ratio: 2:1 (width:height)
- Recommended size: 800 × 400 px
- File format: PNG or JPG (transparent background preferred)
- Maximum file size: 500 KB
- Colour: Use a coloured or dark version of your logo. White is not accepted.
📌 Tip: Ensure the logo is clear and legible at small sizes. Avoid uploading large, high-resolution print files — Shiftly is optimised for screen display only.
Secondary Logo:
The secondary logo is a circular version of your brand (e.g. a brand mark or symbol) and is shown on your location profile and in smaller UI elements across the platform.
Upload requirements:
- Aspect ratio: 1:1 (square, displayed in a circle)
- Recommended size: 400 × 400 px
- File format: PNG or JPG
- Maximum file size: 300 KB
- Colour: Use a coloured or dark version of your logo. White is not accepted unless uploaded on a dark backgroud.
📌 Tip: Use a simplified version of your logo or symbol. Avoid detailed or text-heavy designs, which won’t be legible at small sizes.
Add or change your workplace description
Provide a short description of the location or work environment. This helps staff know what to expect and makes your listing more attractive to potential shifters.
Tips for writing your description:
- Mention what type of work is done here (e.g. bar service, front-of-house, food prep)
- Include any unique qualities or expectations (e.g. fast-paced, casual dress, team-focused)
- Highlight any regular shift patterns or peak hours
- Add info on transport access or parking
- Keep it concise and relevant
Add or change your address
If the physical address of your location has changed, or if you need to correct an error, you can update it here.
Add or change images of your workplace
Upload photos that show your space to help workers get familiar with the environment before arriving. Ideal images include:
- Entryway or exterior signage
- Key zones (e.g. kitchen, floor, bar)
- Staff break areas or uniforms
- Current staff members
- Safety signage or notices
Upload requirements:
- Aspect ratio: 1:1 (square display)
- Recommended size: 600 × 600 px
- File format: JPG or PNG
- Maximum file size: 800 KB
📌 Tip: Use bright, well-lit photos that give a real sense of what to expect, not blurry, dark or text-based images
